3-D Printing, CNC Machining and Laser Cutting

Campers will learn how to use 3-D Printers, Laser Cutters and CNC mills!  This will be a super fun station!  Students will take home some of their designs, while some of the designs will be used in other stations (for the Animated LED Necklace and Sound Reactive Light Stick, if the student is signed up for those stations).  Students will also learn the basics of design, as they get the opportunity to create custom designs.

I’m passionate about middle schoolers! & Makers  I’ve been a middle school teacher for more than 20 teachers and I currently run the Maker Lab at the Steindorf K-8 STEAM.  My rocket station is one the most popular booths at the annual Maker Faire in both San Mateo and New York City.  I am a writer and contributor for Make: Magazine — check out some of my stories & projects here!  Check out my newest book published by MAKE:, “Planes, Gliders and Paper Rockets: Simple Flying Things Anyone Can Make–Kites and Copters, Too!”   And most of all, I love the community at The River Church Community!

Random Fact about Me: I’ve crashed a lot of airplanes and lost a lot of rockets over the years!
